Change the World of Enterprise Computing: Apply for the GEIT Awards Now
The current economic crisis makes your company’s innovative approaches to energy conservation, efficiency, and carbon reduction more important than ever. Maintaining availability and reliability, while reducing cost and environmental impact, are now top priorities. How can you gain global recognition for your team and organization by sharing what you’ve achieved? Your company can influence the global enterprise computing industry and receive significant media and corporate benefits through the Institute’s Green Enterprise IT Awards, presented in conjuction with the US Department of Energy and Forbes.com, and with Knowledge Partner McKinsey & Co.
Deadline Extended
There has been overwhelming interest in this year's GEIT awards program, but with the current economic turmoil several applicants have contacted us to request more time. Since the Institute's mission is to bring together the most meaningful trends and projects in green computing, we want to ensure that you have enough time to prepare the best possible application. So, the good news is that the application deadline has been extended to December 19, 2008.
The Department of Energy has developed an online software tool called Data Center Energy Profiler, or DC Pro, which is designed to help data center owners quickly "diagnose" how all forms of energy are being used in their data centers and how they might save energy, money, and reduce emissions. Preference will be given to applications that use DC Pro in their data submission.
