Services
The Uptime Institute offers two services aimed at maximizing sustainability and availability in mission-critical data centers: Tier Certification of mission-critical data centers and Mission Critical Product Certification.

Tier Certification
Tier Certification rates data centers against the Tier Classification Standard, which is a proven predictor of site availability or uptime. It is a third-party, non-biased, and vendor-neutral rating.

Through the Institute’s Tier Certification, you engage the authors of the Tier Standard. They are experts who have guided billions of dollars in Tier III and Tier IV data center projects, primarily for Fortune 100 clients with critical information needs. This ensures that you avoid the misinterpretations and false topology claims common in the industry.

Mission Critical Product Certification

Data centers in the mission critical facilities industry demand uninterruptible uptime. Yet, there are no uniform standards or certification methods to determine which products best serve their unique reliability needs. While new technology is continuously presented, consulting engineers and end users are often apprehensive about being on the "bleeding edge" and creating unintended site failures.

The Institute's Mission Critical Product Certification program tests products submitted by manufacturers. It independently verifies and certifies the conformance of products with specifications established by the Site Uptime Network. The intent of the Mission Critical Product Certification Program is to comply with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) guidelines for Testing and Certifying Bodies.
